Complete contract for new headquarters
DEKO was the carpentry contractor for Sweco’s new headquarters, responsible for all interior carpentry work for the voluminous new building in OErestad City.
The consultancy company, Sweco has now moved into the new 11,500-m2 premises. DEKO took care of all interior carpentry work and provided advice on the design of glazed partitions and doors, and the comprehensive acoustic cladding for the project.

“We’ve been involved ever since the tender and project design phase in January 2016, and along the way have been advising the architects about the construction and fitting of our products. That also includes the cladding of the huge atrium,” says Ulrich Sonne, Sales Consultant at DEKO.

Acoustic regulation for the building’s major eye-catcher

For the four-storey-high atrium it was important for both the client and the architects to create the highest quality acoustic conditions. As one of Denmark’s biggest carpentry/joinery companies specialising in the interior design of office, institutional and commercial buildings, DEKO has extensive experience in this field.

“The atrium and its skylight constitute the main visual attraction of the building and, for the sake of the working environment, sound-absorbing surfaces were a vital element. All surfaces were clad with acoustic-regulating surfaces, right up to the skylight on the fourth floor. The same is true of the atrium staircase, which needed to be clad on all sides. Here we used acoustic-regulating, slatted panels with an ash veneer surface. Cladding the atrium was a really challenging and complex task, so it’s wonderful to see this satisfactory outcome.”

From plaster surfaces to glazed partitions and fire doors

DEKO’s contributions include 1,300 m? of acoustic-regulating plaster surfaces in the atrium skylight, 3,000 m? of raw gypsum partitions, 1,000 lbm of smoke curtain and 8,000 m? of system ceilings. Additional features include 800 m? of glazed partitions for conference rooms, flexible spaces, offices etc. and 44 glazed panels on the atrium side of the adjacent floors. There are also 71 sound-rated doors in DEKO FG partitions, three DEKO DG doors in DEKO FG partitions, 16 fire doors, seven sliding gates, two double, pivot-hinged fully glazed doors for the canteen and 145 other doors.
