Glazed partition in minimal wooden design
One of the major trends right now is to design offices with a touch of nature in the form of exquisite carpentry and details. Wood makes for a stylish, raw look and is sustainable in the long term. Wood is also perfect for that simple Nordic style, which today features in the décor of many types of built environments. The DEKO FG Nature fully glazed partitions with hardwood profiles and frames reflect this trend, lending life, warmth and a natural look to any interior.
Slim hardwood profiles made by carpenters

DEKO’s glazed partitions usually feature aluminium profiles, so it is something of a novelty to see a DEKO glazed partition with oak profiles. The DEKO FG Nature fully glazed partition was specially designed for Axel Towers, because the architect and the customer wanted a brand new glazed partition system with hardwood profiles to match the countless wooden surfaces in the interiors and architecture of the building. The specially designed solid hardwood frames and profiles are made in our local carpentry workshop and customised for each project. The profiles, which are just 35 x 35 mm, ensure not only stability and durability in the structure, but also the maximum passage of light through the partition.

Glass and wood

Like DEKO FG, DEKO FG Nature is a fully glazed partition with minimalist design features, but with hardwood profiles and matching timber door frames. DEKO FG Nature consists of 1-layer of full-height glazed panels, finished with hardwood profiles where the glass meets the adjacent building elements. All standard visible hardwood profiles come in oak with a powder coated surface, but are also available in other types of wood. The joint between the glass panels is achieved with a 3-mm silicone strip, which provides a stable, soundproof partition with a clear, almost invisible, prefabricated joint. The DEKO FG Nature glazed partition can incorporate many different types of doors in a variety of sound classifications, designs and formats.

The combination of materials creates contrast

In the SUN-AIR headquarters in Billund Airport, DEKO installed DEKO FG fully glazed partitions in combination with DEKO FG Nature oak doors and frames. The idea was to match the rest of the building’s interior and create a sculptural effect with individual solid elements within the transparency. The warm, voluminous, maximalist aspect of the wooden materials complements the colder, simpler, more minimalist nature of the glass and metal. Mixing maximalism and minimalism and materials and colours is a major trend in interior design in 2018. The focus is on contrasts, brave colours, multifunctional spaces, sustainability and personal expression.

DEKO has constructed DEKO FG Nature fully glazed partitions for projects such as Axel Towers, Danske Bank, Havas Danmark and SUN-AIR, and there are more in the pipeline.
