Extremely high design and safety requirements

Copenhagen’s new five-star hotel is located on the corner of Tietgensgade and Bernstorffsgade. Here, nothing has been left to chance. The décor of the hotel is highly elaborate – right down to the last detail.

To accommodate the high demands vis-à-vis functionality and design, DEKO supplied customised fire-rated solutions, which not only complement both the hotel’s original architecture and exclusive interior design, but also comply with the fire requirements with a resistance of up to EI 60. On the ground floor, the hotel’s conference centre features DEKO FG Fire fire-rated glazed partitions New York-style, with bronze-coloured mullions according to the architect’s wishes. All meeting rooms are finished with similar, bronze-coloured DEKO AG fire-rated glazed doors.

Double doors with elliptical glazed over panels

Following its construction in 1912, this unique building served as Copenhagen’s old central post office. Taking this historical heritage into consideration, the interior design of the hotel retains elements of the building’s original architecture.

So, at the top of the steps leading to the entrances, DEKO supplied and installed DEKO AG fire-rated double doors, each featuring an elliptical glazed over panel, fitting perfectly in the original door cavity in the brick wall. The same goes for the hotel’s conference centre, Square. Here, the fire-rated glazed partitions and DEKO AG double glazed door were fitted with the same characteristic glazed over panel in the beautiful old granite wall.

At the entrance to the bar on the ground floor, in order to reduce drafts, DEKO framed an existing fa ade door with an internal porch and a built-in pivot-hinged glazed double door.
